VELAN GO Customer and VELAN GO Partner · Last updated 11 October 2026This policy describes information processed when you use the VELAN GO Partner driver app, VELAN GO Customer customer app, VELAN GO Customer booking website and associated support services, operated by the VELAN GO Partner service team in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.
Information we collect
Depending on your role and enabled features, we process your Google sign-in account identifier, name, phone number, optional profile information, driver portrait, vehicle registration and verification documents, driver payment or UPI ID, assigned operating zone and stand, trip pickup and destination coordinates, trip and fare history, location and movement during driver duty or trips, QR scan activity, technical diagnostics, push notification token, billing transaction and mandate references, and support requests. Payment credentials are handled through payment providers; do not enter card or UPI PINs in our support forms.
How we use information
We use the information to verify drivers, provide and dispatch auto-rickshaw rides, estimate and reconcile fares, show trip status and vehicle location, handle support, prevent misuse, maintain security, and process approved service charges and subscriptions. VELAN GO Customer customers may see the assigned driver's name, vehicle details and position during their trip. Staff access operational information only for their work.
Location data
VELAN GO Customer uses your location to select a pickup and track an active booking when you grant permission. VELAN GO Partner uses precise driver location to determine stand proximity, dispatch eligibility, queues, route progress and trip tracking while driver duty or an active trip is running. A driver location foreground service may continue while the app is not visible. System location and notification settings can be changed in Android Settings, but turning off location can prevent dispatch and tracking from working.
Service providers
The software uses Google/Firebase for account authentication, cloud data, notifications and diagnostics; Mappls and other mapping or road-routing providers for map and location operations; server/cloud infrastructure for live trip processing; and Razorpay or Google Play Billing as applicable to payment processing. Support and approved field-verification staff may process driver and customer records. Provider processing is subject to their own applicable privacy terms.
Retention and security
Information is retained only to the extent needed for providing services, driver verification, transaction records, security, disputes or obligations under applicable law. Deleting your account does not necessarily erase financial and trip records that must legally be retained. Access controls, server-side verification and encrypted network connections are used; no system is completely free of risk.
Your choices and account deletion
You can adjust location permissions through Android Settings and ask for access, correction or deletion of account information. To request deletion from outside the app, use our account-deletion request page. We will verify that you own the account before performing deletion. We do not delete accounts immediately based on unverified web submissions. We will explain any records we must retain when responding to your request.
Volunteer app testers
Our optional VELAN GO website testing registration collects your name, Google account email, optional mobile number, tester role, optional city and agreement to this policy. This information is used to coordinate testing and review eligibility for Google Play closed testing. Website registration does not create an app account or give driver-duty permission. You may ask us to correct or remove your tester registration through our privacy enquiry form. Data is kept only as reasonably needed for testing administration and applicable obligations.
Children and changes
The service is intended for people able to use and operate commercial transport services subject to applicable local laws, not as a children's app. This notice may be updated as products or legal requirements change; we will publish the latest version at this URL.
